Welcome back to the start of the new school year. We hope you have all had a wonderful summer and have come back feeling refreshed and ready for the start of a new term. Over the holidays we have had the perimeter fencing replaced – gaining a grant from the local authority,  after school provided the first £9,000. I’m sure you will agree that the fencing not only looks great but provides our children with a safe environment in which to play and work in.

This term I am delighted to welcome new members of staff to All Saints’ –  Miss Broad, Miss Lawlor,  Mrs Westwood, Mrs Williams and new lunchtime supervisor Mrs Dufty. We hope you will all be very happy here.

Because of the number of children coming out of nursery and reception classes at the end of the day, we are changing their collection point at 3.30 pm. Please go on to the KS1 playground (by Acorn Nursery Classroom) to collect children from nursery or reception. The other classes will be taken on to the large playground. We will hold on to your child until you come back across the playground to               collect them.

On Friday, the first Discovery Day of the year will take place. This is an opportunity for the children to learn about their new topic. They will participate in a range of activities in order to inspire their curiosity allowing us to tailor the curriculum to their design. This personalised      learning really helps motivate the children and promotes a love of learning. We are continuing our links with the forest school Ezone and our year 1 & 2 children will be the first to visit this term on 18th September.

This term, year 5 & 6 children will be going to Ounsdale Leisure Centre for swimming lessons every Tuesday afternoon. A letter with further information will be sent out to parents shortly. This week you will also receive letters regarding the extra-curricular clubs on offer this half-term. The clubs are run on a first-come-first-served basis, so please return the slips as soon as possible. A full list of the clubs on offer will be available in the next newsletter.

A newsletter will be emailed to you weekly (usually on a Friday) and will contain our latest news as well as a list of children who have gained a Special Mention during the week. (These will no longer be published on our website.) To ensure you receive our weekly newsletter, please supply us with an up-to-date email address. If you don’t receive a newsletter, please let Mrs Jones in the office know.

Looking forward to seeing you all back this week.
