Our sports day was a great success on Wednesday morning. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a fantastic atmosphere for the children. They all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in all the races and it was lovely to witness the support they showed one another. Well done to St Joseph (blue) team for achieving the most points overall.

A special thank you to the PTFA for purchasing the gazebos – just in time – as it was a swelteringly hot day again. Also, a massive thank you to everyone who came along early and helped set the gazebos up, get the refreshments ready and then stayed at the end to clear it all away again – thank you. Thank you to everyone who helped out during the event with the refreshments. A special mention also to Gareth Prosser for helping with the starting line and the equipment for every race and to Kate Owen for collating the scores at the end of each race – a real team effort – thank you.

Our KS2 production of ‘Aladdin Trouble’ was also a great success. The children’s performances were outstanding – the acting, singing and dancing were all superb. Well done to everyone who took part. Thank you for providing all the wonderful costumes and a special thank you to Mrs Dudgon for all the props and beautiful scenery and back-drop.

Next week, some of our children will be participating in the small school’s swimming gala at Ounsdale Leisure Centre. The gala starts at 1.45 and we look forward to seeing you there.

Also next week we have our school discos on Thursday after school. Reception, years 1 and 2 children can come to school in non-uniform as their disco starts at 3.30 and finishes at 4.30. KS2 children will need to come to school in their uniforms please. Their disco starts at 4.30 and finishes at 6pm. Please note: children staying to after school club must be collected at 5.30pm.

Next Friday is another non-uniform day and we are asking children to bring in any unwanted good quality soft toys for the summer fair.

Trysull church fete is next Saturday and we hope that this lovely weather continues.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend in the sunshine.
