This week our new library was completed and it looks amazing. A huge thank you to Richard  Davies for organising the re-build of the library and to Emma  Finney and Jo Timms for sorting all the books and organising the shelves – the children are all very excited to be using it. (The new library is located in the entrance porch and has transformed that area.)

Further school improvements are planned with the new nursery finally underway. We have emptied the rooms for the builders to start work next week. They will be installing a new roof, nursery toilets and sinks as well as a food preparation area for staff to use in the nursery and wrap around clubs. I will keep you updated on progress over the next half term.

We have had a great sporting week with Y5 taking part in the cricket competition at Enville. They played fantastically well and although they didn’t win, they should be very proud of their efforts.

Similarly, year 6 children had a great day at Wolverhampton Grammar School participating in a wide range of sports activities including netball, rounders, dance, squash and tennis. The staff there were extremely impressed with our children’s attitudes and aptitudes – well done.

Over the next half term we have a wide range of sporting events taking place including swimming, football, cross country, rounders and athletics. Please keep an eye on the dates for the diary below.

Thank you to everyone who brought in a jar of sweets for the church fete on Saturday 14th  July. Let’s hope it’s a beautifully sunny day again.

It’s half term week next week and the children are back in on Tuesday 5th to our new summer fitness launch (see separate letter for further details.) Please ensure your child has their PE kit, pumps or trainers in school every day.

Discovery Day is on Friday 8th June and will be school uniform for all the children except years 1 & 2 who we are being asked to come dressed as pirates for their new topic ‘Land Ahoy!’

Wishing you all a lovely half term.
