Our Church School Links
As a church school our foundations for living and learning are the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. The message of God’s love for all and the christian values of respect, friednship, love forgiveness, trust and spirituality are at the heart of all school life.
We have close links with our local Parish Church. Reverend Sue comes into school every week to lead worship with the help of our Worship Council. The whole school regularly walk down to church for different services throughout the year.
Our Worship Council is made up of children representatives from each year group. They meet every fortnight with Mrs Woodall to discuss worship themes. They often lead worship and are currently organising outdoor worship areas.
All our children from nursery up to year 6 are put in a house team – St Catherine, St Francis, St Joseph or St Thomas. Each half term, the children join with their house teams for a morning or afternoon to work on a specific theme or topic. During a recent house morning, each house chose a Christian value and displayed their work in the corridor.
The children thoroughly enjoy working with other year groups and it is heartwarming to see how the older children care for and support the younger children.
Our charity group, the All Saints’ All Stars are a group of year 6 children who meet every week to plan events aimed at raising money for different charities. Over the last year they have planned a cake sale, pyjama day, money in the bottle and number day as well as helping organise other charitable events including Race for Life, Macmillan coffee morning and Christmas jumper day. They have sent money raised to Birmingham Children’s Hopsital, New Cross Hospital, Macmillan, NSPCC and Cancer Research.
