This week has been another very busy week for the children and the staff. On Monday and Tuesday we held our spring term parents’ evenings and it was lovely to see so many of you in school. We are delighted with the continued hard work and efforts our children put into their studies and it’s always a pleasure being able to share their progress with you. A big thank you to all the staff for their hard work, commitment and care throughout the year.

On Wednesday, the governors and I held interviews for a new class teacher to start here in September. We were very pleased with the high calibre of all the candidates. Throughout the day, each candidate had to teach a lesson, complete a desk top exercise, be interviewed by some of our year 5 & 6 pupils as well as the formal interview with governors. It was a tough decision but we finally chose Mr Metcalfe¬†who we believe to be an outstanding addition to the All Saints’ team.

On Thursday, we held interviews for a new teaching assistant who will start the post after Easter. Again, we were very impressed with all the candidates. We are delighted that Miss Maybury will be joining us in the summer term.

Our rugby team took part in the tag-rugby competition at Willenhall Rugby Club on Thursday. They played each game well and won a couple of their games coming fourth overall. Well done to all the team, they were a real credit to us. Their behaviour and team work was highly praised by staff members from other schools. A huge thank you to Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Hart for accompanying the children.

Today the children have come into school in non-uniform in aid of our Easter Fairs next week. Rainbow and Unicorn Classes fair is on Monday and starts at 2pm. KS2 fair is on Wednesday. We will hold a parade on the playground (weather permitting) at each fair at 2pm and children can wear their Easter bonnets or carry their Easter gardens. We look forward to seeing you there. On Friday we are holding our Easter service in church at 2pm. We will walk the children to church at 1.30pm. If you can help out, we would be very grateful.

Also next Tuesday, some of the children are taking part in the small school’s swimming gala at Ounsdale Leisure Centre. We wish the team well.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Jane Woodall
