On Monday we welcomed our new nursery children into Rainbow Class. They had a lovely morning with our current nursery children and were all very settled and worked and played beautifully together. We look forward to seeing them all in September.

The small school’s sports day went very well on Tuesday at St John’s Primary School. The children were a real credit to the school and I was very proud of their efforts. Although we didn’t win, the children showed true sportsmanship and cheered on all the other schools. Well done to them all. It was also lovely to see how many of our parents came along to support them – thank you.

Our year 5 and 6 children had a workshop with the NSPCC on Wednesday following on from the assembly last week. I was very impressed with their comments and suggestions – they were all very mature and sensible. Well done.

Yesterday we invited the parents of the new reception children to come to a phonics workshop to give them an insight into how we teach phonics here. This was followed by a delicious lunch they enjoyed with their children. Huge thanks to Mrs Johnston and Mrs French.

Today we have Polly Poet’s party in Peru! The children are going to enjoy party games and their party food this afternoon in recognition of all the effort they have put into this year’s reading challenge.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
