Our children have enjoyed a fantastic week at Laches Wood. They have participated in a wide range of activities including climbing, caving, cycling, canoeing, high ropes course, orienteering and team work games. On Wednesday they enjoyed a whole day out at Carding Mill Valley. Huge thanks to Miss Lawlor and Mrs Dudgon who have been with the children all week. We really appreciate the time you have given to ensure the children have such a wonderful time.
Our year 5 and 6 team (and some Y4 children) recently won their place in the county cross country competition which was held last night in Penkridge. The team were a real credit to the school and tried their very best. Thank you to everyone who went along to support them.
Since having our lovely planters built for us, every class has enjoyed planting a range of flowers, fruit and vegetables. The children are thoroughly enjoying watering and caring for their plants and take their roles very seriously. Emily and Sophie’s mum and dad are currently looking after over 30 saplings donated by the Woodland Trust for us until the time comes to plant them in our orchard. A lovely idea from one of the PTFA members was to ask parents and families to sponsor a ‘family tree’ which they could help look after – more details to follow soon.
Wishing you all a lovely half term week. (Remember – the children are back in on Tuesday 4th June.)
