Our Governors

Our Governing Board

Our Chair of Governors is Mr Paul Jordan. Our Vice-Chair is Mrs Vicki Harris. Our Full Governing Board (FGB) meet every term. The dates for these meetings can be viewed on the link below.

At All Saints’ we have different categories of Governors:

Foundation Governors – Appointed by the Lichfield Diocesan Board of Education

Parent Governors – Elected by the parents/carers of children in the school

Co-Opted Governors – Selected by the Governing Board to bring their skills and expertise from a wide range of fields (this could include legal expertise or human resources etc.)

Local Authority Governors – Appointed by the Local Authority

Staff Governors – Elected by the staff of the school

There are two sub-committees: Resources Committee and Standards and Progress Committee. 

Resources Committee

This committee is responsible for the financial policies and strategies, personnel and health and safety, including buildings and grounds. The committee meet at least every term.

Standards and Progress Committee

This committee sets policies, aims and objectives and evaluates standards and achievements across the whole school. The Committee meet every term.

The Role of the Governing Board

The role of the governing board is a strategic one, its key functions are to:

  • Set the aims and objectives for the school

  • Set the policies for achieving those aims and objectives

  • Set the targets for achieving those aims and objectives

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards achievement of its aims and objectives

  • Be a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher (a critical friend)
