Today our children have thoroughly enjoyed a wide range of sporting events despite the bitterly cold weather. Classes have taken part in fencing, archery, multi-skills, ultimate Frisbee and bubble football. They have all learnt new skills and techniques in a fun and engaging way. I will put the photographs of the different sports on the website soon. We will be holding another Enrichment Day in the summer term in order to give the children the opportunity to have a go at sports they may never have tried before.

Letters regarding clubs after Easter are beginning to go out to the children who are interested. We try and offer a wide range of activities for all the children to enjoy including sports, music, drama, gardening etc. If you or your child has a particular interest that you think other children may enjoy, please let me know.

Our football team played a nail-biting match against St John’s last night. There were penalties, corners and lots of goals. We just managed to pip the other team to the post with a 4-3 win. Well done to the team and to Mr Cleaver and Tom again. Our next match will be against St Bernadette’s and will be the final match in this league. I’ll let you know the details nearer the time.

Next week our school choir and guitar club will be performing for the rest of the school. They have been busy practising their performance and I’m sure the other children will thoroughly enjoy it.

We are holding our spring term disco in Thursday after school. Letters about this will go out next week. Those children who attend tag-rugby can go to the disco after the club has finished if they want to. This will be a non-uniform day as will next Friday as it is Red nose day for Comic Relief. If the children have any red items of clothing, they may wear them on Friday.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Jane Woodall
