Although delays with land ownership and registry have delayed us becoming part of the St Bart’s Academy Trust legally, we have already started working closely with the other schools in the Trust and as such our children are benefiting enormously. The Trust recently employed an Assistant Headteacher to work across the different schools in order to raise standards. Mrs Cattell is an outstanding Year 6 practitioner and literacy leader and is currently working alongside Miss Lawlor in Oak Class supporting the Y6 children in preparation for their SATS in May. In addition to this, all staff are involved in Trust training and on Monday, the teachers are going over to St Benedict’s after school for a joint staff meeting. A moderation meeting involving all the schools is booked. This will enable teachers to see other children’s books, share good practice and ideas. I meet with the other Headteachers and Mrs Kent (CEO) every week to implement strategies across the schools to ensure we are providing our children with the very best education we can offer. As I shared with you earlier this week, we are currently in the process of changing school meals providers and as a Trust, we are in far better bargaining position than as an independent small school. I will continue to keep you updated with Academy news over the next few weeks and months.
